Day 1 Arrive Paro - Thimphu - Thimphu Local Sightseeing
Upon arrival, guests will be welcomed by our representative of the tour. Transfer to your hotel in Thimphu. After lunch, visit Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Point): Home to the world’s largest sitting Buddha statue, offering panoramic views of Thimphu Valley. Motithang Takin Preserve: A natural preserve for Bhutan's national animal, the Takin, set in a forested area mimicking its natural habitat. Tashichho Dzong: A historic fortress and monastery, serving as the seat of the Bhutanese government and the central monastic body.
The evening is free to explore or relax. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 2 Thimphu City Tour
After breakfast, visit the Immigration Office to extend your permit for Punakha. Then, explore various attractions , visiting Jungshi Handmade Paper Factory ,a private factory which produces traditional Bhutanese paper products, including lampshades and envelopes, made from the Daphne papyracea plant. The unique texture and earthy tones make these items perfect souvenirs.
Folk Heritage Museum- Opened in 2001, this museum showcases Bhutan’s rich cultural heritage through a replica traditional Bhutanese house. It offers insights into the Bhutanese way of life, particularly the rural lifestyle.
Memorial Chorten- Built in 1972 in memory of the Third King, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, this stupa is a significant place of worship in Thimphu. Locals come here to pray and gather good karma.
Changangkha Lhakhang- A 12th-century temple atop a hill, offering panoramic views of Thimphu Valley. It is dedicated to Chenrizig, the Buddha of Compassion, and is a popular site for couples seeking blessings for their children.
Later return back to the hotel. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 3 Thimphu - Paro - Paro Local Sightseeing
After breakfast, drive to Paro, stopping to visit Tamchog Lhakhang, a temple dedicated to 13th-century saint Thangthong Gyalpo, known for his iron bridges. To reach the temple, cross one of the few remaining iron chain bridges built by him, offering a unique experience. Upon arrival in Paro, check in at your hotel and visit Ta Dzong (National Museum): Originally a watchtower, now housing Bhutanese art, antiques, textiles, weapons, and historical artifacts. Paro Rinpung Dzong: A 17th-century fortress, once used for defense, now serving as the seat of Paro’s district administration and a monastic school. It features intricate murals and Buddhist symbols.Overnight stay in Paro.
Day 4 Paro - Tiger's Nest Hike - Paro
After an early breakfast, drive to the base of Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), one of Bhutan’s most sacred sites. Guru Padmasambhava is believed to have meditated here after arriving on a flying tigress. The current structure, built in the 15th century, was restored after a fire in 1998. The 2-hour hike offers scenic views, with a tea point offering a great view of the monastery after 1 hour. Continue for another 45 minutes to the second viewpoint.Next, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples, dating back to the 7th century. Renovated in the 19th and 20th centuries, it’s considered a holy site. A notable feature is the orange tree that bears fruit year-round, regardless of the season.
Return back to the hotel. Overnight stay in Paro.
Day 5 PDeparture from Paro
After breakfast, bid farewell to the captivating kingdom of Bhutan as you are transferred to Paro International Airport for your onward journey. Depart with cherished memories of your cultural discoveries, stunning landscapes, and spiritual experiences in Bhutan, the Land of the Thunder Dragon
